olafdevries 0 Posted August 8, 2011 Yesterday I made the discovery my right eye, in fact the eye I'm doing everything with, is seeing subjects at least 30% brighter, or 30% less "saturated..!" Yes, I was watching a "bright" pink rose in the distance and just decided to watch it only with the left eye, I don't know why, but then the rose seemed to be clearly saturated pink..! Did repeat it a few times..!By calling Irene, she indeed could confess the fact the rose being normal saturated pink and not "overexposed." Yes, it was in bright sunlight. The same with the red parasol, being covered with transparant white plastic. My left eye, only generally using it for dept and close being sharp for 70%, is watching the colors normal, that's at least 30% more saturated than the eye I'm doing everything with, also working behind this pc screen.Haha, that does mean most (!) of the images in the portfolio are much too vivid, contrasted and/or saturated. I think of at least switching the camera's vivid mode..! Yes, indeed, Irene did watch the above shot before posting..! :)Pierre, for the future: please ring a bell if needed..! Thanks..! ;) Link to comment

olafdevries 0 Posted August 9, 2011 It's OK, I have to get used of needing my different eye as well, just for posting. Yes, I did follow this great man untill he did stop walking with his motorbike and started looking around, while seeming not totally sure of me. :) Link to comment

Not Here 93 Posted August 9, 2011 There's a lot of character in that face. Yes, maybe he's a Grandpa, but he will always be young at heart... Excellent shot... Mike Link to comment

Vlado 0 Posted August 18, 2011 Oh Boy! At least you can always turn everything into BW. I find myself bowing more and more to BW photography. Probably, it indicates similar vision problems, who khows! And this candid looks just great on my monitor - colourwise and ... compositionwise and ...storytellingwise... Link to comment
Efren 0 Posted August 21, 2011 Good portrait Olaf, in the contrast and the texture. A nice personage. He seems to be rescued of the Second War. Regards Link to comment

jclink 0 Posted February 10, 2012 After looking at your portfolio, and enjoying it very much, the thought comes to me, 'what if he had only a 100 mm lens (and had to get closer to his subjects)?' If I am not mistaken, each one of them is taken with 300mm lens and we do see mostly the face, sometimes a little shoulder and chest, and not much else. Just a thought.Ahh! I found the rest of your portfolio and see that you do use other lenses. I guess in this one, I felt the camera was a bit close in on some of the subjects, but on the whole, a very lovely collection of portraits. Thank you. Link to comment
tamaramar 0 Posted March 28, 2012 Great portrait! And I like the title very much too. :) How are you? I hope you both are well. Best regards, Tamara Link to comment
