mike_palermiti 3 Posted August 13, 2011 Hi Laurent,I like this image and the accompanying background. The image is shot well.My only suggestion is that the Details be more complete like, the actual focal length and F-stop used, with the ISO and exposure value, too.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
lintrathen 15 Posted August 13, 2011 .............. Welcome to PN and thank you for becoming a member.I agree with Mike. When you upload an image, you are given the opportunity to attach your camera/lens details and also the exif data. All of this helps members to objectively comment on your posting.I like this shot............. maybe the subject could be a little off-centre next time.Well done............ thanks for sharing.Regards Link to comment
stemked 4 Posted August 14, 2011 Hi Laurent.First its not a Penguin, it looks like a transitioning Black Guillemot to me, but it certainly easily be mistaken for a Penguin. As to the image I like the pose and your use of depth of field, nice . If it me I would have moved over just a touch to the left to keep the bird out of the center, but I would say that's only personal taste. Link to comment

stemked 4 Posted August 14, 2011 Not a Guillemot, actually a Murre. It looks like Bridled form of the Thin Billed Murre. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted August 14, 2011 Hi Douglas,Thank you for the comment. And true, not a penguin:what caught my eye as I was driving by this beach was the penguin-like stance/walk which prompted a quick change to telephoto lense resulting in this and a few other shots before other noisy onlookers scared it away.Agree with you and Grayham about on-center subject.I cheated to show a bit more of this seldomly exposed beach of my part of the country.Regards,Laurent Link to comment
