Having just returned from the Mount Clinic (see Rainbow Lorikeet folder), imagine our surprise to see this little fellow in our backyard, feeding on a Bottlebrush tree. A first time visitor to our garden...... hopefully he comes again.

Didn't have time to zap the 2x onto the 70-200, but got off 3 shots (handheld) before he took off.

The image is severely cropped (as he was about 20 metres away), so I am quite pleased with the clarity.

That is a beautifully colored parrot Grayham!  You got a good look at the head, and that is the most important part.  I really like that eye peering through the branches.  And you say you only got three shots?  I usually need a whole memory card full of shots to get any good ones.  Congratulations!  Best regards

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your perception in viewing the head of the parrot.... as intended. As I mentioned, this image had had cropping done and I was trying to create the original scenario (as set by the bird) in terms of being hidden away in the bottlebrush tree.

What we see here is all I saw.... from 20 metres away. So, Yes.... the colouring of the bird is beautiful, but without that, I doubt I would have had a shot.

Thank you for your comments and observations.... much appreciated.

Best regards

I am not sure my Sony gear would nail the focus in this situation - nicely done. Always nice to see the work of another Sony shooter ... I want your 70-200mm!
