Great shot.

I often use a quality extender on my shorter telephotos lens for that extra reach. I noticed that the final focal length was 180mm with the extender (90mm setting ) and the image quality was preserved.

This corresponds with my lab test results using many Canon and Nikon zooms with their extenders verse the same lens used by itself at the same effective focal length. Very good lens are not limited by matched extenders.
