My lovely partner started Chemotherapy today and whilst she was in the clinic, I walked across to a local park to find a few of these Lorikeets in a beautiful Flame Tree.

These birds are prolific on the East coast of Australia, but only a few are localised around Perth.

I have posted a series of these beautiful birds, to emphasise their gorgeous colours.

All these images were taken with a matched 2x converter and handleld. They have been slightly cropped, to remove superfluous clutter of branches and flowers that did little for the original image.

They are quick little feeders and constantly on the move.

A lot of fun.

Yes they are a glorious colour.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your kind comments... yes their colouring is quite amazing, yet they can quite literally "disappear" when they feed on trees like this Flame tree.
