I always loved Mexico, the people, the history, the music, the land, the architecture...so it happened that I painted a picture, thebackground of this image when I was about 16! Sometime ago I took apicture of a masterfully done paper and plastic sculpture of thefigure which I decided to put where it belonged, in the picture of mydreams!

Thank you for your attention dear colleagues!

I just LOVE IT Pierre !!!! I think it is one of your BEST  CREATIONS yet, and I can understand why you love the country and it's people. I think Alberto here on PN is a 'shining example' of a happy Mexican 'Ambassador !!

Back to this wonderful WORK OF ART.  It reminds me a bit of 'Paper Mache', at least the figure, finely done, and is perfect for this background you did so many years ago. I would hope you would FRAME IT and hang in a favorite spot in your home, ever reminding you of your youth, your love of that country, and your LOVE of LIFE itself. Whenever life sends you clouds, you can chase them away just by looking at this beautiful creation!

BRAVO TO YOU!!! Fantastic Creation!!!

With Warmest regards, Gail

Dominick, the teacher of painting in my elementary school was always saying that I do horses better than himself! Yes, I was drawing and painting as long as I can remember!

Frank, welcome to my portfolio (I think you are here for the first time) and thank you for your visit and comment!

Gail, thank you for your kind support, I appreciate it very much! I printed this image and it's right behind me now! The original painting was framed in glass and was on my bedroom wall until some changes were done and I don't know even where it is now!

Kallol, I thought of that, but I think it isn't necessary for the figure already resembles and represents a revolutionary with those cartridge belts!

I love the nostalgia in this photograph: the fact that you included something from your childhood. Our childhood makes us who we are, and we should celebrate that. As always, great post-porcessing work!

Pierre, as always your creativity knows no limits and inspires me and others.

I also love Mexico and I lived and travelled throughout Mexicot. I went to college in Cholula, Puebla and years later worked for a Fortune 50 company doing business globally.

What impressed me most is the capture of the huararches, the sandals...and the cotton pants (manta ochenta is the cotton weight) and the tunic.

You remain "Mi Maéstro".

Saludos, amigo.

Very cool image. I could see it on my wall. The man is a sculpture I guess. Did you make the background or is it in the same piece as the man?

Chuck, as I said in my request for critique, the background is a painting I made 40 years ago and the figure I found in front of a cafe in my town, don't know who has made it!
