dom1 1 Posted July 28, 2011 I like it too. The people add scale. That thing must be huge! Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted July 29, 2011 This reminds me of a scene out of a sci fi thriller, a little scary, but perfectly shot. Nice job. 7/7 Link to comment
espector 0 Posted July 29, 2011 The tones are just beautiful; I especially like the way the sky and clouds create a sort of soft, silvery sheen that echoes that of the building. You have some wonderful (almost menacing) dark tones, too, that offset the light, shimmery ones; great how you've managed a nice level of detail in those darker areas. The composition is pleasing, especially on an abstract level (shapes and lines/light and dark areas). There was potential in this scene for a certain amount of competition or chaos among the different elements, but you've placed everything perfectly so that each part maintains its sense of self and works with rather than against the other parts. The couple is a very welcome element for that sense of scale others have mentioned, and I like the way they are sort of lost in thought or conversation, oblivious to the menacing creature hovering just above them! A very pleasing image, all the way around. Link to comment

kallol 1 Posted July 29, 2011 Excellent image, Gunnar...beautifully composed with a nice POV...inclusion of human element gives the required juice to this image...lovely light, colors and detasils...7...my best Link to comment
drorbaldinger 0 Posted July 31, 2011 fantastic gunnar!finally an architectural image that is not pointing straight up....could you have come closer to the spider and clear the top right of the building? maybe the lens was not wide enough. but it could have been interesting not so see the base of the building, the more "ordinary" part of the building and concentrate of the smooth flow of gehry's surfaces vs. the jagged edges of the spider.any way, well done, i am off to do some shooting too, unfortunately, not in bilbao...take care and all the best.dror Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted August 1, 2011 Dror, yes, I spent quite a time around the monstrum and took the detail from several angle. (My hotel was not far from this place, so all my days were starting and finished there;)). There are also compositions you mean. It just takes time to go through all the files (+some post-processing), but one day maybe I upload another version if more or less successful. Link to comment
MarieH 687 Posted August 2, 2011 Cool shot, I actually wish the people were not in it :) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 16, 2011 It is really scary...;-)) Very unusual angle. It is more so because of the human figures. Very creative, nice light and BG. Good idea ,well exposed and executed ,really impressive! Link to comment
aplumpton 16 Posted February 7, 2013 Well seen, Gunnar. There are different layers for the viewer. One is the apparent dichotomy of the not beautiful but functional form of the spider contrasted against the beauty of Gehry's architectural masterpiece. Another layer is a contrast provided by the differing tones of the two structures (the warm tone complements the grace of the structure). We only see a part of the couple but we see that they are seemingly emotionally intertwined, like the prey in a spider's web, hovering between the threat of the spider and beauty beyond them. Perhaps the couple are a bit of a happy accident during the visualisation of the scene; whatever, they add another layer of interpretation to it, and you caught them quickly in a good position but perhaps without time (or desire?) to change the framing. Very nice result. Link to comment
