Always enjoy seeking out the Bees. Haven't seen too many of the

Big Bumble Bees this year, I love trying to 'capture' them the best.

(many thanks for visiting,Gail)

It's a very good capture with really effective dof. A composition with perfect color tones and great details. Best regards.

Hi Gail,

I like the image as shot, but I do not know what you did......no details !

At least I see evidence of a steady hand.

The larger size image is wonderful, too !

Best Regards,  Mike

Extraordinary capture of a fascinating creature.  No wonder people have studied bees to such lengths.  The detail is exquisite, especially of its left wing.  Beautiful, delicate colors.

My best,

michael

Absolutely perfect from all point of view -- technically and esthetically!  You "nail" it down, Gail!

I am trying to learn how to attach the metadata if that is what you mean. There has to be a way other than typing it out everytime. But can give you what I see in Elements:

Shutter Speed 1/100 sec.

F Stop F2

Aper. Value F2

Max Aper Value F2

Focal length 100 mm

Lens Ef 100mm Lens F2.8 Macro USM

compulsory flash suppression (2)

Metering Mode (spot)

Hope that helps, sorry, still learning!! thanks for your visit and kind comments, Gail

So very glad you liked this one, it has become a favorite of mine, as I can see how much better I am getting at Manual focusing. I have struggled with it so much, keeping that hand steady.

My warmest regards for your support and encouragement, Gail

We put in a beehive this year, and so our yard is swirling with honeybees.  Our garden is going like gangbusters.  And our flowers couldn't be happier with the added assistance.  I'm with you, sister, on this one.  Love detail on its little cellophane wing.

Gail, I am very impressed with the detail on the bee, particularly knowing from the attachment how much it was cropped from the original. I like the lightness of the flower and the background really making the dark tones of the bee stand out.
