A nice image capture of a bird with fast moving wings.

The DOF provided the one bud to remain in focus at F/9, but had you used this setup at F/5.6, the results would have been noticeable sharper on the point of best focus ( the bird).

Again, stopping down a lens designed to be shot wide open is not taking the advantage of the high optical definition that it is capable of revealing.

I know this because I own all the special lens from Nikon and Canon, and many other companies. I have tested them in my optical lab and then followed up with hundreds of outdoor shots on various subjects.
