davidclapp 0 Posted July 24, 2011 Well, its a rising hillside, not really a horizon, so I cant do much about that... Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted July 24, 2011 Good to see you back, David. I like the fact that the tree and the cloud are well separated, it allows the tree to stand out. Maybe I'd lose a bit of the foreground. What equipment did you use ? Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
davidclapp 0 Posted July 24, 2011 Well I am not really 'back', just popping in :)I totally lost faith with all the picture posting on here after ridiculous run ins and back stabbing. I just thought I would do it again as an experiment. It's the first picture I have posted here in 2 years, but as the old ratings system has now changed (I only just noticed today) I thought I would give it another go. Todays picture has been well received, so I may well have a bit of a clear out and get the old portfolio up and running again to run alongside my own website. I do miss posting images.Your crop makes it look even better, I like it. I tend to think in magazine format so I dont stray too greatly from the ratio. The image was taken using a Canon 5DIR, coverted by Advanced Camera Systems here in the UK. Its been a total revelation to say the least and I am utterly addicted to the IR medium, both black and white and colour. it turns my world into a dream and I use it extensively, carrying it in the camera bag at all times when shooting landscapes.I have used a polariser to darken the skies and add more contrast. This was attached to my Contax 35-70 lens, f11 for 1/15th sec. Link to comment

davidspeight 0 Posted July 25, 2011 Excellent stuff David,I do like the results you are getting with the 5D. I can't say I have been a big fan of infrared in the past but in the examples of yours I've seen the effect doesn't look too overstated, as in some i've seen before where the Contrast is too much, for my eyes anyway. I especially liked the Parkhouse/Chrome Hill shots.Keep posting and best wishes from Yorkshire.Dave. Link to comment
eye2eyephoto 0 Posted July 25, 2011 Hello David,I want to make you aquainted with a page I've created on Facebook for professional photographers to share their work and ideas, much like we do here on photo.netAs a matter of fact, this contact is because THIS image was chosen as "photo of the day" on the page today. Please accept our humble thanks for letting us grace our page with your wonderful image, and please also accept our invitation to join us!Here is the link to the page, just in case you're already involved in facebook. If not, perhaps now is a great time to do that!!https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Professional-Photographers-Page/176691282373219I chose this because I LOVE IR, (see my portfolio) and this is just a tremendous example of holding tonal values (which has been a theme on the page this month). Thanks for your time.. and thanks for such wonderful work!!Jack BlakePage Owner: The Professional Photographer's Page on Facebook andEye2Eye: Imagination to Imagery Link to comment
