My Nice (in winter at Foota Saur)

Lovely photo, well cropped. I'd only say move her a half step off center (to the right)next time to give her some room to move.

Please critique!

I'm sorry but I don't like it. There are a couple of things wrong with this shot I believe:

 

- it does not seem sharp (could be the can)

 

- I know it's very hard to meter decently in snowy environments but the metering sesm off. The snow (bottom) is all blown out. Perhaps you were aiming for this? (and that's OK)

 

- I'm not sure what you're trying to show or tell here. If you like the landscape, it woudl be better off without your niece. If the focus should be on your niece I would have zoomed closer(or got closer)and use a different DOF - since there seems to be plenty of light if should not have been too difficult to get the background more blurred to get your subject sharp.

 

Not meaning to sound nasty, of course. Just my 2cts, and by all means feel free to disagree.
