samrat 1 Posted July 21, 2011 I saw this lady seconds before she paid her bill and left. I had little time to adjust settings, which meant I had to 'recover' much of this photo post-production. This has resulted in the high contrast, for which the harsh light was also partially responsible. Many thanks for your constructive comments on this photo. Link to comment
anna_chapman 0 Posted July 22, 2011 I like it. The composition is good, and the contrast and B&W really add to the overall tone of the image. I would normally say that the people outside are too distracting, but I think it adds to the meaning of the picture and makes the girl seem all the more lonely. Nicely done. Link to comment
samrat 1 Posted July 22, 2011 Thank you for your interest in this photo. I was in two minds about the other people in the photo too; I did try out a cropped version before deciding to stick to this one. I think the excess contrast to the right of the photo and including the lady gives it a gritty and (possibly) 1950's feel. I'm sure opinions will be divided on this one. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted July 22, 2011 Samrat, I like the high contrast and your decision to keep the people on the street. Link to comment
