This is another nice close-up using your zoom lens set to 299mm focal length.

Next time, I would suggest using F/5.6 and 1/1000 second.

The benefits being, a faster speed shutter for the 299mm focal length lens , and better definition on the subject from the F/5.6 lens setting.

Mike, I did setup f/11 for one reason. In such long lens if I use f/5.6 it lose sharpness due to very narrow and small focusing area.

Great macro combining the subject in perfect focus with colorful surroundings and a beautiful background.  Very nice!

Beautiful colors and sharpness.  I think that having too much dof is better than not enough.  You can always lose it in PS with one of the blur tools but ya can't get it if it ain't there.   A bit like flying, the things you can't get back; the altitude above you or the runway behind you... but I digress....
