Linda,

A nice find! Appears restorable, . . . "new project?" (only kidding!)

The B&W really makes this photograph. Nice DOF and details!

Regards,

Jim j.

I love the detail.  My eye is particularly drawn to the weeks on the side, little constellations that they are.  This seems to be a one-eyed, grizzled old gentleman, hesitant to smile, but with just enough trust to open the door.

What a brilliant find! We don't have the old fashioned "Junkyards" any more. we have "recycling stations" this means that all cars are stripped of parts upon arrival and the various components recycled accordingly. Its not great situation for photographers.

I love this shot the B & W is a great choice and the perspective with the car peering at us with one eye through the long grass, it all feels so right!

Canada gets ever more appealing, fishing, wildlife, and now even better, old fashioned junkyards, what more could a man want.........or woman for that matter!

Best Regards

Alf

Thank you all so much for commenting.

Jim, there are many restored vehicles in our part of the world and many antique car shows in the summer. The short mild winters and little salt on the roads keeps the bodies from rusting out.

Ruud, I am glad you like it.

Jeff, I didn’t see the one eyed grizzled old gentleman, but when looking and photographing this collection of old skeletons I thought I could feel the presence of ghosts.

Alf, I know it would wonderful trip for you and your camera. I have only lived in Western Canada for thirty years and I always find inspiration. We have many junkyards full of interesting old heaps around this part of the country. It is true that many of them are interesting, and fun to photograph, but there are also the eyesores. You can be traveling along enjoying the incredibly beautiful scenery, some of the most beautiful in the world, I am told by tourists –  I believe them -  and then you will see a mountain of ugly, twisted, filthy, old junk in various stages of decomposition. You remind me that I was going to complain about one that I find particularly offensive near by.

Best wishes,

Linda
