Nice shot Linda! I'm always searching for an old Jalopy such as this to do something interesting to, but never seen to find any. I'll have to search the country roads more.  This one sure has seen 'many days'. "If these old junkers could talk'!!! Or maybe it is better they don't!!

Geat processing, fine detail and the color of the back building is perfect for the yellow. Congrats, nice work!!

(PS all that great info about the ants and aphids had me spellbound this morning. One of our vines is infested and I was watching an ant hard at work all over some aphids, seemed to be collecting some of the droplets of 'sticky juice' I think I've heard the ants like...tnks so much for taking the time to tell me!!!) Kind regards, Gail

Hi Linda,

A very nice image of this scene rich in color.

I am pleased that you used the Canon zoom L series lens, as they do develop  record colors well . The use of F/5.6 was good, since you preserved much of the lens performance by not stopping down too much.

Best Regards,  Mike

Linda,

I like this Ol' Ford photograph better!

This one really looks like it's seen a rough life of use, . . . not many "straight" areas on that body left!

The colors are very nice against the red building, and I especially like the buildings "trim work."

Well done!

Regards,

Jim j.

Does colour have its age? If yes, then this old car is still young in the heart. Great choice to slighly mute down otherwise too intense hues, and top crop along the wavy canvas is a pure hit! But, my personal preference would be to show the car with any of its sides more visible than it is now, one point perspective does no good to old, good, gracious lines of this elderly puffer. Apart from that, just great photo, visually and technically.

A lovely presentation Linda!!! The vibrant color sends me the message, "I"ve seen my day but I'm still standing proud" lol  Very nice!!

Thank you everyone! It is good to hear your thoughts. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Alexander, thanks for visiting. It is nice to hear from you.

Gail, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I think the reason you don’t see many “Old Jalopies” in Ontario is the salt used on the roads there. It destroys vehicals. I think because of our mild, short winter with little snow there are more survivors. There is a smorgasbord of antique vehicles in every junkyard and many back yards around here. If you are looking for one to photograph now you know where to look. I am glad you found my little speech about ants interesting.

Pierre, thank you!

Ruud, thank for commenting.

Mike, I love my L series lens. They are amazing. I will never go back to the standard lens, I sold the one I had.

Grigoriy, thank you, I am glad you like it.

Les, yes, I think it has been through some rough times. It was the colours attracted me to this scene.

Jim, I wasn’t sure what the B&W was. I didn't realize it was also a Ford. My old car identification advisor (husband) wasn’t sure either. As I said above to Les, it was the colours that grabbed my attention here. The white trim was icing on the cake for my eyes.

Amitai, I thought the tilt was good, like it had settled into the ground. Too worn out to for more travel. Thanks.

Brano, thanks so much for your thoughts. I did take some shots from other perspectives, this one was my favorite out of the whole batch. I just loved the look of the black grill against the yellow paint. The white trim stretcbj g along the top seemed to me to be the perfect touch.

Andrea,  I think that there was still some dignity left in these old bones. This was sitting next to a restoration shop, so maybe there will be more glory days in store. Thanks, I am glad to heat that you like it.

Cheers,

Linda

Hi Linda!

Maybe my comment cames too late looking at the date of the photo, but I want to say that the idea I have of the old Ford cars is all in black colour...This yellow one is a revolution!

Anyway it is a nice composition, I like your photo!

Regards!
