Hi Ruud,

after days of continual rain, finally the sun came out & the insects too - you don't see them when it rains. That's when I spotted this one.

Thanks very much for your enthusiasm for this image.

Hi Sam,

A nice capture of an interesting subject.

I am a bit surprised by the apparent noise in the image, even at ISO 200.

So I reduced it and you can see a bit more "snap" to the image.

Best Regards,  Mike

Hi Sam,

You are welcome. Often "noise" replaces or competes with the real information that is recorded. Noise management is a tight rope-too much reduction results in a loss of definition, not enough can cause false color or lack of "snap".

The important aspect of any post processing , is that the original image is as good as possible. The images that I have seen from you are all very good , so any post processing is based on a good image.

There are times, where "graininess" due to noise is very effective in a presentation , too. Many art works need that textured look that "noise " can provided.

Best Regards,  Mike
