Nice shot ...and I have a similar 50mm lens (a Nikkor f1.8) and it's so great for low light and all that.  Have you played around with your camera on a tripod and tried to capture some motion?  I have a photo set called Lights and Motion and it's mostly night shots with the tripod capturing just what the title is - Lights and Motion.  A lot of it I shot over a handful of years at the Arizona State Fair from 2006 thru 2010.  I'd like to add some Jersey Shore shots to this when I'm back there a couple times a year, but have yet to do so.  Nice shot though and I like how the people in the swing chairs even came out well.
