bens 0 Posted March 20, 2003 you are really on to something with your portraits, but many of them are too dark to make out the features on my monitor, including this one. Link to comment
reed 0 Posted April 27, 2003 I like your B&W portraits a lot. Excellent use of light, contrast & shadow, even though detail can sometimes lost is upload. Link to comment
koska 0 Posted May 7, 2003 Interesting portrait of an interesting model. I like the lighting. Link to comment
negro y blanco fotógrafo 0 Posted May 7, 2003 This is a really great portrait. Your parents named you right - Ihsaan. I'd love to see some more in this lighting. Great work, -Marc http://www.marcmanleyphoto.com Link to comment
jeff_hilbrecht 0 Posted May 9, 2003 The B&W portraits like this one in your folder look like the subjects have been cut out via photoshop and put on a black background. Not natural looking. Link to comment
david_nadeau 0 Posted June 13, 2003 You have the right idea with the high contrast look. You need to get better at cutting and pasting in Photoshop however. The edge around the subject is way to sharp and the background black is way to flat (try varying the tones a bit). Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted June 13, 2003 I like the lighting and you have a good subject. I don't know if it's PS work, but the top and back of his head don't look too natural Link to comment
ynse 0 Posted June 13, 2003 Despite of graphic program you are trying to use this is another very good portrait you did. I like dark background and partially lighted faces -- it seems more interesting to me. Link to comment
eirik_holm_yvik 0 Posted June 13, 2003 Very nice use of light. I would perhaps have darkened some of the skull on the left side. Link to comment
reinier_de_vlaam 0 Posted June 13, 2003 Real nice, I like it when someone dares to be different in portraits Link to comment
keaggy220 0 Posted June 15, 2003 I just looked at all of your portraits. You are doing some good stuff and with some tweaks it could easily be great. Overall the transition from light to dark is a little to hard and the contrast with the background is slightly harsh as well, of course this is only my opinion. Overall it's good work - keep submitting. Link to comment
panzerwolf 0 Posted June 22, 2003 the digital background cut really looks unnatural in some areas... darker background in the first place would be better...i still like your style, but i would crop this one on the left and bottom... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 25, 2003 I love these types of protraits when the subject is right for it... and this one is definitely right for it. I even like the zipper on his jacket. The "V" it forms just fits. I am, however a little distractd by the very bottom... those two points that are hilighted a little.... I'd crop em off. Link to comment
rickaubin 0 Posted August 19, 2003 Nice profile and use of light. Could use a little more detail behind his ear. Rick Link to comment
larrondo 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I think it`s a very nice picture. You could try to use more the details, may be with more light. Link to comment
