you are really on to something with your portraits, but many of them are too dark to make out the features on my monitor, including this one.

Striking use of lighting and contrast.

I like your B&W portraits a lot. Excellent use of

light, contrast & shadow, even though detail can

sometimes lost is upload.

Interesting portrait of an interesting model. I like the lighting.

The B&W portraits like this one in your folder look like the subjects have been cut out via photoshop and put on a black background. Not natural looking.

You have the right idea with the high contrast look. You need to get better at cutting and pasting in Photoshop however. The edge around the subject is way to sharp and the background black is way to flat (try varying the tones a bit).

I like the lighting and you have a good subject. I don't know if it's PS work, but the top and back of his head don't look too natural

Despite of graphic program you are trying to use this is another very good portrait you did. I like dark background and partially lighted faces -- it seems more interesting to me.

Very nice use of light. I would perhaps have darkened some of the skull on the left side.

I just looked at all of your portraits. You are doing some good stuff and with some tweaks it could easily be great. Overall the transition from light to dark is a little to hard and the contrast with the background is slightly harsh as well, of course this is only my opinion. Overall it's good work - keep submitting.

the digital background cut really looks unnatural in some areas... darker background in the first place would be better...

i still like your style, but i would crop this one on the left and bottom...

I love these types of protraits when the subject is right for it... and this one is definitely right for it. I even like the zipper on his jacket. The "V" it forms just fits.

 

I am, however a little distractd by the very bottom... those two points that are hilighted a little.... I'd crop em off.

 

I can't see the join. Nice lines.

Nice profile and use of light. Could use a little more detail behind his ear.

I think it`s a very nice picture. You could try to use more the details, may be with more light.
