justin_ames3 0 Posted July 12, 2011 You might want to subtitle this "the oldest very large stick in the world"... Seriously, the only flaw I see here is the unnecessary crown of roughage off to the right on the horizon. Given its placement, the silhouette it produces is too busy and clashes with the story telling quality shared by the remaining elements in the image. That said, obviously first class work, and highly dramatic. ja- Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted July 12, 2011 Yeah, nature never is quite perfect by our human standards of aesthetic design, eh? I figured given the tree's girth at over 12ft in diameter, 'stick' might not do it justice. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 12, 2011 Too wonderful for words, so I will just shut up and look at it. Link to comment

je.barreto1 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Nature is always, always, perfect even when supports in its womb "imperfections" like us.Magnificent as many other photos of your portfolio. A pleasure for the eyes of the soul...Regards. Link to comment
cherkez 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Another masterpiece from you. Great light. Looking forward to read about the technical side of this image because there's always an interesting combination involved. Best regards, Ivan. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted July 13, 2011 This image is right up there with "The Tree God", your other depiction of a Bristlecone, but with an entirely different feeling. I see a victorious Norse god, standing atop a heap of the vanquished against the backdrop of the wild skies of the ancient world. The orange glow on the cracked slab in the foreground is pure magic, Marc. Link to comment
steve_wagner1 1 Posted July 15, 2011 Guess I have to dissent and say way too much post for me. I can't imagine that the capture looked remotely like this in terms of tone. Nature doesn't need this degree of alteration. A very strong graphic piece in any case. Link to comment
benhuybrechts 0 Posted July 16, 2011 Hi Marc,What to add ? Stunning, wow. It has a bit of an artificial feel, but that is not a bad thing, I love it. 7 from me.Ben Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted July 16, 2011 The image here is actually more true to the eye and the scene than most of my work. It was one of the great light shows I've ever witnessed and only minor adjustments were made. A little burning, blue saturation, sharpening and tonal adjustment was it. Maybe 5-10 minutes in PS. Always surprising to hear people's interpretations of these things. Link to comment
