vicki_huynh 0 Posted May 26, 2003 This image has such a beautiful art nouveau feel to it. My only nit is in regards to the sky. There's a little too much of it and it's not very interesting (this is a fault I find with many of my own photographs which is probabbly why I briniging it up...). Would it have been better/possible to get this shot from a lower angle to bring the sky:sea ratio to 1:3 or less? Link to comment
Phil_Light 776 Posted September 29, 2004 Hi Vicky. Appreciate your comments and critique. You know I tried to get a lower angle on this image but kept losing the material at their feet then (would've been cropped by rocks out of view in the foreground). Even though we managed to get this siren-esque image, we were greatly constrained by a number of elements which conspired against us; setting yellow sun which vanished moments later, models frozen to the bone, stylist's interceding with clothing re-arrangements and material repositioning, and slow film speed (ASA 64) which wouldn't allow much further-ado in regards to additional changes. I'm sure it would have been much easier if we had had lots of time, warmer weather, no wind and ample sunlight. These are the perils of fashion photography on location. But I'm with you, I would've loved to have been able to change the horizon position too! Link to comment
Phil_Light 776 Posted December 17, 2005 Done in the very last moments of setting sun. Models make it look like a Summer day, but Summer fashions are always shot in the Winter. This scene included a thirty mile-per-hour wind as well. I think we did well considering... Link to comment
