Every Summer Peterborough has an Annual Event, THE RIBFEST,

Professional 'Ribbers', and local Restaurants offer up Barbaqued

Pork Ribs and Chicken. In 2010, when this shot was taken, over

16,000 people attended. The Vendors are a great bunch of folks,

work really hard at visiting a different town every weekend during the

summer, and then when Summer is all over, they go back to their

regular jobs. This hard work'in man is a 'Developer' of Properties,

while others have vocations that range in many various specialties.

And then there are the fortunate few who can take the Winter off,

and relax till another 'hectic summer' arrives. But any one of them I

spoke to, just do it because they LOVE IT. They entertain and feed

literally thousands of people a day, over the 3 day event, while

elsewhere in the park, local and long established Breweries offer

refreshments to wash down the 'goodies'. All day long till into the late

evening over at the STAGE, various Bands entertain young and old

alike. In 2010, Sass Jorden headlined, and this year Juno Nominated

The Sadies were the Main Attraction (Saturday nite). Last nite I

attended the 2011 'Fest and it was a SMASH !!! (thanks for dropping

by, sincerely, Gail)

That's a very fine compliment, and they did like the photos, but I receive as much enjoyment from working on them....and they were generous with the ribs and chicken.  We are going to keep in contact, should be fun.

Thanks so much,Gail

Seems like I would have a time there eating and I would have to say that I would like one cold beer... I think I can manage that... I do like the way you express so much in your work and that you continue to share in the PN environment although it has changed over the years... I continue to keep in contact with my friends and hope to see new works that inspire me but I can always depend on you having something of interest that keeps me positive and motivated... Thanks so much for your comments on the simple concern series about the habitat and loss of wildlife.  I had consider trying to go to rate to increase the visability of the cause but then thought about it again and will stay with the comment request as I tend to get honest comments and feed back and support on this issue better than having a number tossed at me from someone thinking on the level of an artist or pure photographer and I am weary trying to please the masses so I please myself... Again thanks for all your help... MJ

Well, I was there for about 7 hours, so 3 beers from a local Brewery went down pretty fine. I did not eat until later, due to my Camera, and 'sticky fingers'. But the food was great. I was on my own so waundered about wherever I wanted and when. Parking was almost impossible, until I remembered a Parking Garage near by that is free on the weekends, and luckily I got a spot near the entrance. In this shot I wanted to include the Logo, so I tried to isolate it from Peter's shirt. But it took a great deal of time, and ended up almost from 'scratch'.

I am enjoying your new series of work very much. Your artistic side is so beautiful to view. I still ask for ratings, I don't worry too much. Not too many people want to imress me, so I find that the ones who do comment are ones I am sure are interested in my work. At the moment I don't try to get too upset over much. I have a lot I'm working through re my Mom, and don't need additonal stress, so avoiding things 'negative'. It's odd, the creative spirit, you can't just let it 'slide' - almost like it 'calls' to you.....and you have to 'answer' in some form or another.

thanks MJ for your honesty and friendship, certainly means a lot, and you are a 'bit of the glue' that 'holds me together..........You have a sense of 'balance' ...........I need that so much. Talk again soon, Gail
