A friend of mine told me, while looking the photo, that maybe some people will think the shadow on his left foot as a result of bad processing.  This is not so.  Please see the attached crop of the original photo. 

Of course I want to believe that this was not the reason for some really low ratings.  Anyhow please feel free to leave a comment if you are to, or have, rated this one with a 2 or 3.  Thank you all!

lyrical, magical, the white flute is gorgeous, the tent assuring the capture of the wandering minstral... in my faves Panayotis; the piper's emotion and conviction are very stirring; i'd surely follow him ;-} ;-} dp

This is a very good photograph.  I imagine this fellow may be homeless.   The good thing about rendition is that it does not assault the person's dignity.  This is a serene moment in which the man does what perhaps does best.  

This was originally color and was translated into black and white.  I believe this works better in black and white.  I do feel that it is a trifle too dark.  A touch of brightening would make this picture perfect.

Donna and Alex thank you for your time and ideas.  Alex I have another version with more light but I thought surrounding objects were too distractive...take care!

Excellent capture of an interesting fellow. I like the somber mood. Good job with the tones, and the lighting works well. If I cropped it, I would have probably cut the top lighter portion of the tent. Overall, excellent street photo.
