This is a wonderful action image with excellent composition.  Was the background this dark when the image was taken?  I suggest you try to eliminate the purple cast and to add more detail to the trees and reflections.  You may be able to accomplish this with curves.  You will have to spend some time getting the fisherman's exposure correct.  Thanks for posting this.  Regards.   Larry

Thanks Michael! Good to hear from you & greetings from SoCal! :-)

Thanks Larry! I did not see the purple cast but now I see some. I don't think I will go as far as you did but I think I will try to adjust some along what you had modified. The problem with this shot is that the lighting is very low and and I had to use high ISO to allow the high SS to make sure I get the fellow sharp while he's casting ( I had used ISO 800, 1/400 & F5.6). The SS is as low as I dare to go for motion and F5.6 is not what I like at all for the 100-400mm since I would rather closed down a bit more than the wide open f-stop (more like F6.3 or 7.1) and I generally don't like to use anything more than ISO 640 ( I shoot a lot of flying bird and already found out the hard way with high ISO and high SS - not very good in retaining  details!). I am happy, nevertheless, to be able to capture something of daily life with somewhat ok quality. Thank you very much for your visit and suggestion Larry (very much appreciated). Happy ... shooting!

The original image is a pure one... with good color cast... at the end a good composition and action... 6....

Hi Tm, This is a lovely image.  There is a bluish color cast but i would not want to affect the color balance and luminance of this image too much, a simple warming photo filter 81 (in PS) at about 45-50% would do the trick of subtly removing some of the color cast while warming up the line and fisherman at the same time and not affect the overall tonal range of the image (see my example).  Regards - michel

Thanks Ehtasham!

Thanks Michel! I like this slight  modification of using the warming filter but yet still keep the light that fall on the subject very much.

Wonderful time, nice action and a real nice shot.  You get the whipping of the line on the still water.  I love it.

This is great!  If it were mine, I'd leave the blue exactly the way it is.  Folks, that's natural light, it's blue in the shade.  However, the fisherman is anything but blue because the sunlight has him fully illuminated, and the contrast of his shirt and skin against that background make for a tremendous complete image.

You got the rod and line at the perfect moment, perfectly illuminated, and you couldn't have asked the dude to wear a better shirt for the image.  Sweet!!!

Thanks Donn! I have not gotten back to this but I sort of share the same thought about the shade & blue  (or purple) :-). I had thought that my subject is correcly lighted and I probably should not change for the sake of the background since that's what is truely ... is.
