I am concerned that the image may be a bit dark, possibly up to 10%.

Do you have an opinion? Thank you in advance.

I like it.

I don't mind the darkness, it seems to be an early moring shot.

I do wonder if a little higher viewpoint would have helped. That way the trees and the flowers would be less in each others space.

All the best, Matthijs.

Thank you for stopping by.  My monitor is set about 10% light to other's calibrations, and maybe 15 - 20% light by most of my clientèle's monitors by observation (I have to darken an image by 10% before saving).  This morning shot (about an hour and a half after sunrise) with the polarizer was throwing me off a bit.

I thank you for the suggestion on the FG placement.  I studied that placement and others at the time, but I went with this, as it really gave some great "depth" to the image.  These are up to 2 meter tall flowers flanking the road in my rural neighborhood; they are sort of "rag-taggy", buffeted by passing vehicles, but beautiful in their own right.

Thank you again...

Thank you Grigoriy for your comments.  I too liked the randomness of the wildflowers, yet I also enjoy how the yellow blossoms appear set in a diagonal pattern across the image.  The morning light is of course the real kicker, the separation of the foreground is keen.

I am somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned the beetle feeding on the center most flower.  I did not wish to bring too much attention to him (so in that I must have succeeded), yet I was not going to rob him of his breakfast (by removing him).  He was of little consequence in the whole affair, and probably had more rights than I, to that moment or place in time.

Thank you again for stopping by Grigoriy.

Wow! 2 meters tall......must be good land you have there!  I love the stark colour and contrast brought about by the combination of the morning light and the DOF, the dark almost silhouetted trees against the blue sky is a great colourful backdrop and as you mentioned gives a real sense of depth to the shot. I get a distinct impression of viewing these from a car window as I travel down this country lane.

Best Regards

Alf
