Gorgeous light, lovely reflection and a majestic landscape. Just wish for more space between the shore line in the foreground and the tip of the reflected trees.

Claude:

This is a tiny lake (Image Lake) and that the tips of the Hemlock trees touch the near shore is not ideal, but the only way I could have accomplished that would have been to lugged a 16-foot orchard ladder 16 miles into the Glacier Peak wilderness on which to perch the tripod!

The snowy mountain really pops from the wonderful light rendition beyond. The reflection and the trees complete the wonderful scenery. Congratulations!

Marc, I dont agree with your heading, to me this image does not represent serenity, there is sometention in th eimage created by the virtical lines of the trees and the diagonals of the mountain, this is my interpretation. All that being said, this is a masterul image that gives me joy to look at, the colour the contrast and th e"tension", the reflections are just perfect, and i thank you for sharing this, I rate this a 7 and put it in my favourites.

Best regards

Richard

Yes Richard, I see what you mean. I was never good a titling. Any title suggestions would be much appreciated.

This is, as mentioned before me, a masterpiece. You even broke all "rules" by placing the peak dead center and it works!

Perhaps "Tension and Serenity"? Or maybe not. Actually, I don't see any tension in that way, but I understand the observation. As far as the ladder, well that's just plain laziness. Go get yourself a couple of llamas and "get er done!". Really, Marc, this came out so good. This is magnificent!!

Great shot, Marc.  Yes, it is a very serene scene, and the title is apt.  That said, climbing up those slopes might not be a very serene experience, except for those who are thoroughly at home on icy, high mountains.

I wish that we had such vistas in the East, but we don't.  Yet, even our soft-looking mountains can create tension  (and something approaching terror) if one is hours from the car with no shelter and a cold winter's night coming on.

I should mention that this rework is based on the techniques of Mark Geistweite which he generously shared with me. Thanks again, Mark!

I'll work on those Llamas for next time...

For me it's a very nice and sweet picture on a good moment of light.  I love the colour of the trees on the right, as also the gradient and different colours on the sky.

The only thing which I think doesn't work well is that I see it a few tilted to the left and, the main one, that I'd considerer to put off the border of the lake on the FG for maintain adjusting the trees at the bottom.  Even this part gives me more impression of tilted and not offering nothing interesting to me.

Anyway, fantastic shot.  6/7.
