tom t 0 Posted March 15, 2003 What is it? Hull of a rusty ship? I like it! One comment though - what's up with the bit of blue at the top? Would it be better cropping it out, or perhaps reframe so we get to seem ore of the blue? It does make me curious. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted March 16, 2003 Comments, ratings appreciated on this abstract. I'm constructing a folder these which will be shown at a local gallery later this year. This is actually part of a metal ramp leading to a pier. The purpose of these is to take pieces of objects and render them in such a way that they are not recognizable--I'm attempting to take these to purely color and form. Thanks for any comments. mawest 0 Posted March 16, 2003 I like the colors and the repeating of the yellow above the red as well. I'm not sure what it is, but in the lower-left thirds point is some sort of grey dust-ball. IMO it is a bit distracting (then again, if it couldn't have been brushed off then I guess Iit belongs there). I like the other metal bolts (or seemingly raised circles) on the surface, just not the 'dust-thing' [grin]. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted March 17, 2003 you've got it here: Purely color and form, in this case color. The blue is helpful, I think. It imparts a nice contrast to the red. If not helpful, then I don't see it as harmful. These are sunset colors. Congratulations on your show. That's great news! Link to comment
