I beleive that you are not the cause of injury(of course if you don't have any phobia regarding spiders).Great details,DOF,light & the prentation is superb.

My best regards.

My good friend Pierre,

This is a well shot image. An excellent documentation of real life.

Many years ago, this would be rated "R" due to its vivid details that would have been considered shocking content for younger eyes to see. However, the visual violence of today's movies and computer games goes far beyond reality.

I trust that if the spider did not survive, that a lizard had a good meal.

Warmest Regards,  Mike

Even all those many eyes could save him.

Very pleasing angle.  The glint on the blood is also nice.  best, j

Pierre, my first thought was that I am looking at an new illustration of Franz Kafka's novella- The Metamorphosis. Your macro-photography is excellent. I almost became Gregor Samsa by staring at this amazing work.

Interesting, their blood is red? I don't think I've ever seen a spider with red blood.... Uh, of course I would not admit to shedding any of their blood...  Excellent photo... Mike

Pierre, at first glance I thought this was a Tarantula's ectoskeleton, but in the brief look I had, I guess it was squashed. I am terrified of spiders, especially Tarantulas, even though I have been around them for decades. My son keeps them as pets, some as big as plates. You are braver than I am, I could never get this close. Best wishes, Linda

Michael, I was surprised too, although I had not a clue what color their blood should be!

Linda, this was a very small spider, we don't pay attention to them usually, there are lots of them in our summer house!

My best regards.

Very nice shot with fine details and well tones...I`m not sure that the reptiles have blood but I know when they faced with a wound, the antibody came from the wounded part untill they fix the surface with it.Very good expression, too!Best regards(Bobby).

Dear Bobby, the spiders don't belong to the reptiles, they are insects and whether the insects have blood it is written here! And here!

And according to those articles my spider is unique, it says there that they haven't red blood!

Thanks for your visit and comment!

For me, the only good spider is a dead one!  I love nature and everything in it, except for spiders...!

I even scrolled down this picture very fast so that I don't have to look at this monster while commenting.

Even though I hate them, this is once again good work from you.

Kind regards,

Engela

It looks like spider was in wrong place, at wrong time... Poor bug, but nice casual macro shot!

indeed a scary but also fascinating photo - painful to look at. With a different title you could also make a different story: the leg could be a remnant of its victim...

cheers, Wolfgang

I love macro shots, and this one is special with respect to photgraphic interest ( clarity, sharpness, details, expose and depth ), and also with respect to nature. Somewhat Pierre's style macro-shot! Bravo.

Hamid.

Very good shot. This leg belongs to the right hand side of the body

2nd-front I'm guessing.:)

I do like spiders but small:)

Jumping spider is my friend for example:)
