monika.brand 0 Posted March 14, 2003 What does she think, what does she feel...? A great portrait with a wonderful model(such beautiful eyes!)But the most I like is her frowning - it's the dot over the i. Link to comment
ja1 0 Posted March 14, 2003 Very nice portrait but why does she look so sad? Widze, ze zaczynasz sie specjalizowac w portretach i to z niesamowitym skutkiem! Byc moze to bluznierstwo ale to zdjecie kojarzy mi sie troche z obrazami swietych - ale to moje skojarzenie. Regards Artur Link to comment
koval 0 Posted March 14, 2003 And well done! That is the way it is . I feel the same about it . PK Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted March 14, 2003 There are no rules. The shot has focus on the eyes which seem over sharpened and the bottom half is blurred. The format is tall and this all doesn't work as well as the previous one. The nose hasn't benefited from the closer shot with the 50mm. I did a crop but I don't think it is much of an improvement as it is well away from the original and is a bit ordinary now. Louis Link to comment
koval 0 Posted March 14, 2003 I never find my images sharp enough . This one dose not make me feel so anyway ( especially when compared to original slide) . I guess you did not find the idea of this photo atractive and that is why you though that cropping will help. I personally like this image only because of the "selective " sharpness and blur and what follows the effect the blur have on the fabric . That is making the overall looking with some paiting like feel. The distortion achived by 50 mm as the angle also was the key step here ( even I see why you did not like it )to create more unnatural look, not beauty . So all this makes it very important to have the bottom of the image where it is and as it is. I am not tring to make you like this image just to show you why luck of "rules " worked for me. however I like the image and the final result I fully apriciate your comment and thank you for your time. dougityb 0 Posted March 15, 2003 piotr,I'm happy to comment on this one. I think it is much better than the one that was loaded a couple of days ago because the hand is much better here. It's smaller, and less distracting from her face and its expression. I feel the hand here is not overpowering. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted March 15, 2003 My wife, on the other hand, has commented that the woman's lipstick does not match her nail polish, that the lipstick is the better color, and the nail polish should be matched to it. She said this unmatching is a mistake and a No-No. That's what she said. Link to comment
