(Plus it's at a slightly longer focal length which catches my eye immediately.)

If you'd like to make it even more abstract you might want to consider a B&W version.

A very cool abstraction.  From a distance it looks almost like the hem of a skirt.

Great perspectiveI personaly would like to see the bouy out of the image, others may disagree, I find the red is dominating a bit to much and distracts me from the intricate details in the scene, apart from that i think this is a wonderful image with a lot to offer.
