bayard_bigelow 0 Posted March 13, 2003 Great shot; exposure is perfect, fine detail, really engages the eye. Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted March 15, 2003 This is a very complicated subject that needs to be simplified. There is so much motion in this photo that it needs to be more organized. The arch should go straight across the frame from side to side. The 4 red ceiling coffers should be parallel to the top of the image frame and the bottom ceiling should be parallel with the image frame like it is. This would be a complicated composition to arrive at but it would allow you to focus on the details rather than the "dizzy" aspect. You have a good eye to have spotted this view! Lighting is excellent! Link to comment
amachado 2 Posted March 15, 2003 Trying to capture the grandeur and scope of this magnificent structure.... Link to comment
andrew_mundroff 0 Posted March 15, 2003 i think that the "dizzy" aspect was intentional. i like the sense of movement created by presenting a symmetrical subject in an asymmetrical way. i think if there's any weakness it's the brightness at the right side of the frame, but i'm not sure that bothers me, because the strong diagonal which occupies the left of the frame balances it to a certain degree, or completes the tension across the picture. dominiquedodge 0 Posted March 16, 2003 Interesnting idea to use this view point but the composition is a bit too complicated IMO. i think it might have been better to be more selective. Link to comment
amachado 2 Posted March 16, 2003 for the constructive comments. The image was composed asymetrically on purpose, generally I find that symetrical compositions result in a static image that is, perhaps, not as interesting and lacking in flow........ Link to comment
webrx 0 Posted March 16, 2003 Well, it has a different perspectiv, but the horizontal angles (needs straightening) and the center cut (dead middle) distract me. good exposure, good sharpness. Link to comment
amachado 2 Posted March 16, 2003 I've reposted after straightning the horizontal angles...it does result in a cleaner image! Link to comment
amachado 2 Posted March 18, 2003 I think I like it better with the angle as originally presented. Link to comment
steve_pearce 0 Posted March 20, 2003 The angle is good. Breaking composition rules and uniformity is what makes this shot interesting! Link to comment
