Your photograph demonstrates to the fullest, what I was trying to communicate in my last composition, but yours truly does it with the most utter sense of 'calm'. This is beautiful in it's Simplicity. A sense of calm is felt when viewed. Thankyou for sharing Lester. Tops, to you for 'knowing' what the Soul Searches for.

Respectfully yours, Gail

wish I could see something in this vast blue, i.e.: a boat, flock of birds, a aeroplane or even a UFO?

This photo definitely exudes serenity.  I like how you've balanced the horizon, and how my eye travels effortlessly along the subtle lines in the water up to the brightness in the soft clouds.  The pastel colors really add to the overall feeling of calm.  I can see where an alternative version of this (where there was a lone boat or a bird placed somewhere off-center) would work as well, but the version you have is quite effective without any specific focal point (beyond the brightness in the clouds).  It invites the viewer to explore the entirety of the frame, which enhances the calming effect.  Really well done.

Very nice shot Lester, I like the dreaminess and atmosphere. Just goes to show you don't always need close foreground detail to make a great shot.

Regards, Dave.

I love the simplicity of this image, less is more!

To me this image is about the soft textures of the sea and sky, It is about the gradation in colour, tone and hue throughout the image. It is about the horizontal lines layered through the image. The fact that there is no singular point of focus adds interest, it allows me to stay wihin the image exploring it. Very well done, i love this sort of work. 6 from me.

Lester, you've hit a home run with this fine work! Actually, I'm not one for minimalist photography, but this grabbed me immediately. Congrats!!

Wonderful blues with a hint of red from the sun, and soft lines in the sea and sky.  It's a very peaceful photograph, very nicely done.

unusually eye-catching... no subject, low contrast, not much color... but still a great shot!  -chris

Subtle and harmonious this image is the epitomy of tranquility, a velvet soft splendour of colour that touches all the senses and leaves one with a feeling of peace. I think you have produced an image that people can connect with, and as such it is inevitabley successful.

Sincere Compliments

To: Gail, Kombizz, Andrea, Maurizio, Michael, Ruud, Timo, Bobby, David, Richard, Mark, Tony, Claudio, Luis, Stephen, Chris, Jef, Alf, Keith, Linda & Sebastien,

I can't write in words so well how happy I am to receive and read all your comments and remarks about this image.

At first I had the intention of projecting the feeling of "emptiness" in this photograph however I realized that the sea was a vital element in itself in the composition as mentioned above. The feeling of serenity, calm, tranquility, inner peace (as describe by Bobby) and even "velvet soft splendour (as described by Alf) convey more what I felt for this image hence, the title.

The purpose of not placing any focal interest in the composition was intentional to underscore the thing described above.

I wish to thank everybody for taking time out to view this image and leave precious comments. Thank you also for liking its technical aspect necessary to bring out this rendition.

Many thanks to all and best regards to everybody!

LESTER
