Thanks for viewing.

I like the idea of this photograph but I would have removed the mirror on the left. It is distracting to my eye. I also would have had the subject be less posed to make it look like you just sort of caught this moment in time. As it is, the photograph appears too staged to me.

And one more thing, I would have dropped down a little so as to avoid the distortion in the door frame.

Thanks for your impressions and remarks.Well, first it is not  posed .  I was photographing in the room and she stayed there  as you see,not posed at all. The mirror is part of the room as is the pot on the other side. The mirror can not be moved and as there are notes standing before the mirror , imo it is a  part of a music studio  and not distracting, it is a studio where people live  and work in.  About going down a bit it is for sure a possibility and  thanks . I will think it over as I liked the door in full frame and the rhs lines are straight. Thanks ,and nice to meet you . We shall wait and see what will be other points of view.

Hi Pnina, I like that in a small, confined space, you photograph a broad perspective, including the reflection of the mirror, which gives us a peek at a window, to provide a more complete look at the room.  Great diagonal view that cuts the squares into triangles. Windows, doors, a precipice -- all trademarks of your art.  If she were looking at us, it would stop the flow.  A slight tease the notes, which are almost decipherable, but they set a tone of what must go on here.  I agree that above the door may not add.

Donna, following each other work for a longtime I think that you know exactly what I think while photographig a certain Frame...;-)) Thanks for your real nice and understanding assesment of  the composition.

Ruud and Pierre, thank you both for following my work and your feedback!.

Pnina, I think the mirror reflecting  the window and the music stand are integral to the scene as are the elements on the right. I like her stance in the doorway looking out, absorbing a few minutes of relaxation before getting to work. The polished floors are quite wonderful and make for a lovely reflection.

There's something very attractive about this picture, the theme of light and dark, subject and reflection which is also carried out by the checkerboard pattern of the floor. The woman's relaxed pose and lighter colors is a perfect compliment to the darker, more geometrical lines of the inner room

Pnina... the crop, the light, the perspective, the color embraces this scene and opens it up to the viewer; one feels like they are in the atmosphere of the room. a beautiful picture, and marvelous capture of its mood; the womb-like interior, the inspiring bright outside ;-} dp

The framing of the door, both for her and her shadow, is a nice touch.  The high gloss on the checkerboard floor makes for a perfect reflection.  In some ways, the inside seems larger than the outside.

Pnina:

I very much like the soft and relaxed mood the photo conveys.  Seeing the B&W checked floor tiles right away appealed to me, as they always are striking in photos, and I think you used them optimally by showing the lady's reflection in them as well. Showing people in doorways, with part of the interior and exterior visible can often be tricky lighting-wise, but you managed that well here, imo.  (Something in the photo reminds me a bit of your approach in your "Follow the lights series"  = possibly the combination of light & checkered floor tiles :-)   I quite liked your other photo of this interior as well, as it shows more of the inside content ( mirror and musical  instruments), and I personally think that that photo would look even better, cropped square...? (cropped from the top)  Having seen the interior content on the LHS of the doorway, I wondered why you hadn't considered taking a shot with the lady, slightly more off center, and by showing more of the LHS, and less of the cabinets on the RHS....  Anyway, I do like the above photo as is already, and wonder if possibly a tiny crop from the top of the frame(still showing the entire doorway), would give it possibly a slightly 'cleaner contour'....      Kind regards to you, Marjolein  (PS: I hope that your exhibition went very well  -- I was thinking of you on July 1:-)

Tony thanks for your nice feedback and your feeling that are well understood the composition ,she was exactly taking a moment befor contiue her day's work.

Jack thanks as well, your description mutches well what I thought seeing her standing like this.

Donna P. It is a very nice description of the scene seen through your eyes, Thanks.

Jeff , thanks for your nice feeling that the outside looks smaller than the inside... ;-))

Marjolein, thanks  for your impressions  as I wrote to Steve I was photographing in the room, and I thing that "cut closer" above the door will have less breathing air... l wanted as well to enhance the feeling that a music studio is not steril .as  people  work, create and live everyday life as well .

I agree that a squre is a possibility on the second version but I would have lost part of the second floor ( the upper brown part)
and more of the room tiles which were built like the Baroque era of the 17th century.

Follow the light is not only a serries of works created in the past, but I fiollow the light in my entire photographic work. Thanks Marjolein it is a beautiful comment!

Lannie thanks as well!

Pnina, everything has been said about the image. I can only add that I like the shot very much. But I am glad to know that you have opened an exhibition, where images are briskly sold and you are flying to Canada. Wishing you all the best.

I keep coming back to this one, Pnina.  You have captured a sense of freshness and quiet contentment.

I chose this for my favorites months ago.  It still is one of them.
