I have taken a photo that I kind of liked of an old interior staircase

and played with it in photoshop. This is the result.

There is a lot of glare but obviously you wanted to make this part of your photo...it is difficult to maintain good exposure (at least I've always had a problem) especially with a compact camera. You tried to use the flair to your advantage...but to me, it looks a tad too "artificial" if you know what I mean.  But I like the idea that went into the shot. Best wishes.

Thank you for taking the time to evaluate this photo. I feel I have to defend the P7000, because it did a great job despite the big contrasts in the photo. I will post the original photo to back this up. However, there were highlights on top of the stairs, the reiling where the sun hit it through the window from the right. That is what triggered my idea to exaggerate that effect. Hence, I rendered the lense flare through photoshop, actual two different kinds of lens flares. And because a solid background or frame would have looked too flat, I decided to add some noise to it by using the texture filter in photoshop. Since I have done so much editing, I put this into the 'digital alterations' section. This is definitely not to everbody's liking and I am sure at another time or day I would have altered it totally different. But in this case, you are right, the artificial look is wanted. Thanks again!
