What a great composition -- the horse is perfectly placed, I like the tail blowing in the wind, and the lifting fog make a great background.  Even the small shrub on the left helps to define an edge.  Finally, I like your simple framing -- it's a nice touch that sets the photograph off in a subtle yet effective manner.

Hi Linda

An iconic photo -- a pictures of seemingly free and contented horse being kissed on the head and back by the sun, grazing an organic dinner.  The light catches the tale, adding nice movement.  I don't know what the position of the ear means -- listening to you? Love the backdrop -- simple, bucolic, the textures work well with the sky.  I agree about the comment of the bush on the left as good framing.  Pretty, horse with cute white socks.  BTW, I love your smile and happy eyes in your own pic/photo.  You light up this joint -- PN!

Classic b&w photo at its best! And it will be that for many years to come. Wind blowing directly into the sun, play of the light and the shadows on horse' s neck and tail, enough texturevin the clouds to round the whole photo withoutvoverwhelming the main subject,.. Just simple, powerful photography. Bravo!

I appreciate your comments very much, thank you everyone.

Patsy, I was trying to make this look like a charcoal drawing. Thanks for noticing that.

Donna, you really made my day.

Best wishes,

Linda

Very lovely work Linda! I especially like the light gently glistening on his mane, shoulders and tail and the faint shadow the light provides. Lovely composition, tones and processing; really beautiful image. Thank you for sharing. :)

I love the use of light in this shot Linda, beautiful horse, the entire composition from your chosen crop to the 'finish' and the presentation are all very complimentary.

Kind regards, Gail

Excellent light use and the presentation. The artistic touch, specially the soft glow over the horse is very nice and attractive. Excellent composition.
All the best to you. Warm Regards.

The smoke on the horizon works extremely well with the overall sentiment of the photo.  I like the horse's pose.

Thank you! Those are  late afternoon  clouds in the background, dodged and burned to make them more dramatic. I like to go out shooting in the early evening, the world seems a little bit more beautiful just before the sun sets or rises.
