At Twelve Mile Bluff near Greymouth (New Zealand), the wonderful

sunset light only lasted a few minutes. By taking more than 50 shots

during this short period of time, I finally captured some interesting

scene on this location. Thanks for viewing this image.

Has depth, has clear front plan, has motion, has most wonderful colors and mood! Perfect!

Congratulations Yan!

Best regards!

I'm sometimes asked if I'm taking that many rapid-fire photographs during a short time span while this beautiful landscape is unfolding in front of me, can I really enjoy it while I'm "so busy" shooting photographs?  Wouldn't I be better off to put the camera down and really soak in the scene?  My response is that I can enjoy the beauty of the scene, even when I appear to be intently involved with my camera.  In fact, my engagement with the scene is even greater with the camera than if I were to put it down and just let the scene happen.  My awareness of all of the elements is heightened, because I'm also looking at them in terms of composition -- how they relate to each other, how they are changing, what the light will probably do in a few minutes, how the light and dark areas relate to each other, how the foreground rocks relate to the distant clouds in the sky, and so forth.  Those thoughts and relationships never come to mind if I'm just watching the whole.  I think this is a case where the sum of the parts (seen and attention paid only with a camera) is greater than the whole (sitting and watching).  Thoughts?

Superb image.  The colors are exquisite, and the light beautiful.  I really like the composition particularly the light water streaks in the foreground leading the eye towards the horizon and the nice spectacle evolving there.  Great scenery superbly captured.  Regards - michel

Well composed.  The silky water, the static roks at the foreground, the far away subject with the beautiful clouds make the whole scene more "natural".  Best Regards,
