I posted an earlier rendition as a B&W and I felt that it would lend

itself well to the Pixel Bender filter. Although it doesn't fare well

with my fellow PNers, I do like to play with this effect on certain

photographs. This particular image I think took well to it and

produced a nice painterly image. I may be standing alone on this, however.

I think you are absolutely right--that this does set up really well for the PB effect.  Very, very painterly, and the color palette is sublime.  The greens just glow, especially in the middle-top of the image.  Really beautiful work!  Cheers!

Leo:  This is the first time I've seen this pixel bender thing.  It does look like a painting - very interesting and nice.  One comment.  The tree on the left cuts right across the fallen tree breaking up the composition.  Nice shot.  Alan
