Hi Linda, Lovely composition, the little white churh stands out beautifully against the mostly green backdrop. Looks like a nice quiet place to think and relax. Take care.

Sincerely,

Holger

Very nice image Linda. The composition is very good, i like the undulating line leading the eye to the church. Nice color contrast between the church and the surrounding background i guess some would see a strong symbolism in this.  Nicely done.  Regards - michel

............ the previous posters encapsulate my thoughts.

In addition though, leaving in the building on the left changes the image from that of a lonely church on a hill to a place of worship for a small community....... clever.

Linda:  I like the geometric composition with the big tree and church along the slanting hill.  I think there's too much space on the right.  The house on the left should have been cropped out entirely rather than  leaving half of it in.  Or maybe left in entirely if there wasn't other objects there that didn't work.  The big bush on the bottom pulls my eye away from the subject.  The big tree blends in to the background.  Different lighting would make it stand out.  Nice shot.  Alan.

Linda, this is marvelous. With the church aptly placed in the composition and the slope of the hill graciously sets the foreground interest and the mountain beyond is terrific. Great image and congratulations. - Lester

The church is well defined and sharp against the background, and I love its simple architecture and shape, the rest of the image is less well defined and although it actually works as it accentuates the church, I just wonder why it isn't as sharp? I suspect you may have used photomatix to blend a couple of images but please correct me if I'm wrong. Any movement in a bracketing sequence caused by the wind, or slightest movement from the tripod can result in less definition.........again this is purely conjecture on my part and it could be that the effect is entirely intentional. As for composition, you have a great perspective and focal length, with the church occupying just the right amount of space within the frame. My thoughts are that a slight pan to the left would have allowed a view of the house / building on the extreme left whilst moving the church to a more defined thirds position. That being said the photographer is alway in a more well  informed position to decide on composition, and it does work very well in its present format.  The image reminds me of an Alpine scene, very appealing!

Best Regards

Alf

I really do appreciate when people take time to look and comment on my photos. Thanks for the input.

Alf, you are right about Photomatix. I am experimenting. I have had good and poor results. This isn't as clear as I would like, but I liked the scene so much I decided it was a keeper. I will have to go back and re-shoot this one of these days.

Truly awesome. The composition is just great and the fact the this mostly withe building is surrounded with green it sure makes it the center piece.

Very well done.

Beautiful little white church. It stands out so white and pristine against the green mountainside. Very good eye, lovely composition.

I like how this little church glimmers on the hillside.  The two swatches of green and blue are lovely.

Well balanced composition, that well match tone and colors. It can be seen at early morning hours, or when sun some where behind the hills... But, any way, well done!
