artofheadshots 0 Posted March 7, 2003 I shot this image in color(digital), and found that it just did not have the emotion I wanted. I decided to desaturate it - but I was still not happy with it. So I decided to start over again and desaturated the river and its houses only, darken and saturate the sky. That brought another dilemna because it was obviously separated in two. It took me a long time to clone information along the separation line. If you know an easier method I might have used please let me know? Cheers, Ringo Link to comment
noodleboy 0 Posted March 7, 2003 take your raw image as the base layer in photoshop. right click the layer in the layers window and select duplicate layer. apply first effect that you wish to have in part of the image. say, desaturate. with a large, feathered eraser, go in and erase out on the effect layer everything that is not included in the effect. never modify the original bottom layer. duplicate the original layer again beneath your first duplicate to apply another effect if desired. the largeness and feathering of the eraser will blend the effects together nicely and it takes very luittle time. i could do the above image with better results in maybe 10 minutes Link to comment
secondsight 0 Posted March 11, 2003 this is one of the moodiest shots I've seen in a long time. Excellent job! Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted March 14, 2003 However you achieved this it certainly has created a mood. It actually makes Richmond look interesting. The light really does it. I'll have to come across the strait and have a closer look. Link to comment
lostinhigh 0 Posted March 19, 2003 Great original shot. Somehow, I like it better than if it would be just plain B&W. Rich Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted May 24, 2003 I was stanging in a little bridge that passes on top of the river. I was comfortable - wish I had a more compelling story to tell. Link to comment
