guillelobera 0 Posted June 16, 2011 The ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise (the Irish Cluain Mhic Nos) is situated in County Offaly on the River Shannon south of Athlone and this monastery is one of Europe's most highly regarded sites of its kind. It was founded in 545 AD by St. Ciaran, (Kieran in English). The monastic ruins are the most extensive of their kind in Ireland. Link to comment
