Looks like he could be in danger of losing that ice cream if she just reaches forward............I feel like shouting "She's behind youuuuu"! : -)

Perfection in placement and composition and with the bonus element of humour!

Regards

Your opening idea was mine as well..! :) "Careless" or "Rather Careless" probably would have been the title. Thought it too obvious, predictable. I planned to load up the image before having a title fixed. And that's risky. I'm nearly sure I will change this title within weeks. By the way, it's a she. :)

I was lucky, for with a  girl friend she (?) had placed two chairs in front of the lady in back, while it's an open route and very rarely a person even is standing stil in front of it..! The session did last at least ten minutes, here she is already halfway the ice cream.. I noticed her when she started, but in the mean time hundreds of people did pass by, yes in between us. I got about eight chances and saw the ice cream lowering. :) The direction of her look got the decision. You too, thanks for passing by..! Olaf.

This made me smile . The figure with the ice cream oblivious to the lips behind and those red lips look to be going mmmm ! Great shot . Bill

I'm more an observer on forehand, so immediately (!) while noticing her attitude plus her hand and while keeping the total composition "under control", I did shoot. Globally (!) all was fitting. (This is the straightened original with only a few mm crop.) So, observing via the rather heavy combination camera plus objective and so via the rather tiny viewer and my glasses, I seldomly do. Here I did, only because of the people constantly passing by. The chances were lasting only seconds.

Getting, feeling (!) the moment, most of the times gets followed by one (!) shot. For after the "best" moment, there mostly simply isn't another "best" one..! That's also a reason why I never did use, or would use, the burst mode. I have to make the decision, not the camera. If so, I should make a video.

The extra, nice details, here the lips, are just a bonus and I do notice them first afterwards. But I have learned by experience: good attitudes and good postures nearly allways get accompanied by good expressions..! Therefore is my goal if seeing a nice "subject" with good light and a proper background, to shoot an interesting attitute and / or good posture..! The expression allways is "automaticly" related to that.

Succes..! :) Olaf.

"For after the "best" moment, there mostly simply isn't another "best" one..!" This statement from you sums up the decisive moment so very well. This is a perfect capture with the lady's expression (of that of distraction) and the apt background. It may also convey the idea (rather than losing the remaining ice-cream to the girl behind) that the lady says "I don't like it any more...you may have the rest" with the raised hand moving up and over her shoulder.

Your suggestion about maybe not wanting the ice cream anymore. Well, shortly after this shot a "girl" friend of the lady did pass by. She had noticed me and thought it of great importance to warn the model, in her eyes the victim. The model just kept as stoic as she seems to be here. Haha, she even didn't offer her messenger a single spot..! Haha, next the "friend" did look in my direction if she had succeeded in frustrating the session. The answer simply was directly another shot. Yes, again a nice chance in collecting characters..! What a face..! Yes, I seldomly do say that. The reader can choose the meaning of it, there only are two possibilities. :) Yes, again, the latter got me first totally clear while seeing the shots afterwards. I'm shooting fast, nearly intuitive. Haha, first shooting and next asking.

Thanks for passing by. Oh yeh.. I wanted to ask you for a full copy of the "Red curtains." It would be my desktop for at least months..! Haha, later noticing the mini format of the image after copying, I thought: Samrat is protecting his babies extra well. :) Haha, I decided to forget the idea. Yes, was thinking of your name on it, or, just in even getting a better format for the complete screen (!) the complete file without (!) the black pole on the left..! So the real original would allways be only yours. Yes, think about it. Haha, maybe it even will keep you awake this night..! Samrat, it's OK, I will sleep anyway..!

Thanks for passing by, Olaf. ;)

Beautiful color, composition, and humor.

Thank you for making me smile. I got confused when I saw this. I first saw the hand of this woman, and thought it was someone else's hand, trying to cheer up the woman, or trying to feed the painting. A hand of another person reaching forward. "The other person" is offering the ice cream cone, the woman is saying "No, I don't want it," and the painting is "thinking" "Ha, ha, I am going to steal that ice cream cone. It looks so delicious." (with a sinister laugh).

Those are my thoughts. Thanks for the story in picture. Best regards, Janice.
