The original neg-APX 400 @ 400 in Rodinal @ 1+25-clearly shows the highlights blocking up. This does not happen (or at least happens very seldomly) if you shoot your APX 400 @ 250 and then develope it in Rodinal @ 1+100.

The Look...he has the look. Its a look people involved in cults

often have But its also a look of one being at ease with ones self.

Ive liked this shot right from the moment I took it, I didnt have

to see the neg. I knew I nailed it. I spoke with this gent as the

group he was with took a break. He said it was ok to shoot him but

that he didnt want to pose...to please shoot him as he was

chanting. This is the shot I got. APX 400 at 400 so I ended up with

blocked highlights that took a lot of photoshopping. I was just

starting to shoot B&W and didnt realize that APX at 250 & Rodinal at

1+100 worked much better for me. Still it has that wonderful APX 400

& Rodinal grain.

composition and subject are great. The grain and something with the contrast (too much?)is too much, though.

One thought keeps coming to mind when I view your photos, the subjects give themselves to you and feel good about doing so. Strong sign of a true Shadow Catcher.

Such a self-righteous pose. You really managed to capture the "attitude". Reminds of Yul brynner in The King and I.

What a face and stare! too much funky grain on the face/head for my tastes, but i love that face, those eyes!

He looks like a young warrior-god. A great shot from below (it's really hard to make them work). But I love the way his incredibly long and strong neck leads me to a sculptured head and priceless expression. Fantastic shot.
