I know this is just a snapshot...but my husband is planning on letting

me borrow the remote trigger later. I threw a blanket on the back

deck, put the camera on a tripod, checked the focus, took the

picture, and cropped out the edges. (I took several) How did I do for

a first try at this? Thank you in advance for your comments.

Janice,

You are off to a great start. I like this very familiar scene that is around our house, too.

I can remember is the old film days, how I would use mechanical timers that would depress the shutter after so many seconds. Often they would get stuck and not take the picture, while other times they would fire too soon. Then I replaced hem with a long air activated mechanism. This used a rubber squeeze ball that would send air pressure to the trigger that depressed the shutter down. That had its problems. Often , my pictures would show the air line that went from my hand to the camera. Other times, the air line was not long enough.

Now, electronic timers and wireless shutter releases make life much easier.

Again you did well with this captured scene.

Best Regards,  Mike

I had a lot of fun with this photo session. I need to set up lights and borrow my husband's remote trigger next time. Thank you for the compliment. Here is another photo from the session. You can see more of me here.

Hi Janice,

Thanks for sharing the addition image here. The remote will make it much easier to trigger an event when the composition suits your needs.

Best Regards, Mike

I just wish there were a way to see the image, and framing ahead of time :) This is such a fun challenge for me. Best regards to you, too! Janice
