davidmccracken 2 Posted July 28, 2011 Oh to have a private beach! There does seem to be an awful lot of light around. It is often difficult to control. The shadow created by her rib cage is not too dark and is what makes this shot interesting for me. Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted July 28, 2011 Hi Mark,Many years ago on Florida's West coast, I was walking down a beach and almost fell over a nude woman just lying on the sand as your image depicts.Fortunately, she did mind that I pointed my Pentax 6X7 film camera with its 165mm lens to take the picture.Nice capture, and I do like the shadows and tones presented in this image.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
bobmclean 1 Posted July 28, 2011 I have not been fortunate enough to stumble across such a subject however, Mark, you have created a great image here. I agree with the above, the lighting is second to none. Regards. Bob Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted July 28, 2011 This is a nice one of Jordana Mark. I like the grass shadows created by the mid-day sun, and I also noticed that the texture of her skin seems to coincide with the texture of the sand. Who knows... maybe a future Edward Weston-type classic nude! Good job Mark! Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted July 30, 2011 David - If it was only true that this was a private beach. I was there today, not to photograph, and it was packed with people. This spot was still empty though. It took a bit of moving Jordana around to get these shadows without her getting uncomfortably poked by the grasses. I'm pleased you like the result.Mike - I'm not sure I could ask a nude stranger if I could take her photograph but good for you. Thanks for the comment.Bob - Thank you, early morning light works even in B&W.Michael - I am humbled at the reference to the great master, thank you. When you have a model with lotion on her skin and she rolls around in the sand you get this result. It was not entirely on purpose but it works for me too.-Mark Link to comment
