I like the diagonal angle created by the foreground dune, almost corner to corner, very pleasing to the eye. The gradual diminishing contours of the sand ripples are another vital element in this fine image. The view beyond fading to black give an atmosphere of night and mystery that again is very appealing. I have a couple of questions : - Is this a night scene illuminated by the moon perhaps? If so, it may have been worth waiiting untill later for some stars to appear, I think this would be an amazing setting for star trails. Beautifully done Hamid, the B & W conversion has been handled very well!

Best Regards

Alf

Another very well established composition. Light and shade tones are so good here as is the detail. Well done work, Hamid! Kind regards.

Dear Alf,

I'm so happy you liked characteristics of this image and so much appreciation for positive input, and nice question(s):

This is a early day time capture, near one hour after sun rise, with low position of sun at far left ( actually behind ). The sky was deep uniform blue at original shot, and turned to jet black at complex process of b/w conversion ( actually a four stage process, involving three masked layer of split toning of gradient map for b/g, mid-ground and f/g, and one layer of b/w adjustment layer for fine tuning ). The result, altough a bit strange, but satisfied myself of special taste! Again, thank you for your time and suggestions.

Beat regards,

Hamid.

Hello Hamid, Very good B&W work in this image. The texture of the sand from the left foreground diagonally going back is very mesmerizing to look at almost like an optical illusion. Viewed larger and this image comes to life even more.. Your handling of the strong contrasts is also good. I like the composition with the small shrub at the right offsetting all this sand. Very good work.

Sincerely,

Holger
