What a lovely carnation Amal! I love 'carns'. When I worked in the flower shop and way doing up a customers' request for 'cut flowers', I loved working on the 'presentation' of the flowers....wanted them to look just beautiful in their transparent wrapping (just the way I'd love to see them if I were ever to have some sent to me).

Carns have such a lovely fragrance, and the more unusual the design, such as this one, the more impact they had.  I had some customers who would come in requesting 'this' very Carnation itself.  This is a beautiful Macro of a lovely flower, one I adore most.

You have proven that subject matter abounds.  Flowers, as a group, in isolation, or as a close up abstract such as you have here, are everywhere, especially at this time of the year.  One doesn't have to go far from home to capture their beauty.  Good practice material for the advanced photographer or for the newby.  The creamy whites contrast well with the magenta accents.  This one is not as sharp as I would have expected but perhaps this was hand held at a relatively slow shutter speed.  Have you been neglecting your tripod? :-)  Best, LM.

Len, your observation is  correct and very much appreciated. It is a hand-held shot.I have sharp-shots but I preferred to keep it bit soft.  I have not touched my tripod for a long time, because I am using a small compact camera these days. However, I shall keep in mind your advice.
