Guest Guest Posted March 1, 2003 The model is sincere and the experience of life can be seen in his eyes. I'd add just a bit more depth of field. The nechlace is an excellent detail. Link to comment
gisle_eiken_s_vengen 0 Posted March 1, 2003 I could agree with Matti here, but I think the dept of field makes the picture. I love it! The cropping is perfect, and the details in his face is varied and interesting. Great shot! Link to comment
marcelosoriarodriguez 0 Posted March 1, 2003 I am fine with the DOF as well, although perhaps I would have liked to see a more gradual change in sharpness (not that it was possible without showing the neck and therefore altering the perspective, which I think is perfect). Also, the great difference in sharpness between the face and the body draws one's attention more than if the body was also in-focus. One final comment: if the title of the picture is "prayer", how is this man looking at the camera? Is he praying looking up for inspiration? Not that I disagree with the pose, just curious... Best regards, Link to comment
mg 0 Posted March 1, 2003 I think this is your best upload so far, Koval. Really fantastic. Bravo ! Cheers. Link to comment
gary_ferguson1 1 Posted March 1, 2003 Tremendous work, it's relatively rare to have the out of focus areas towards the bottom of the image, it makes your subject surge up as if from the mists of time. Link to comment
nickolay_lavrik 0 Posted March 2, 2003 The portrait is excellent in telling the story. I feel that it is so selfexpressive that my more specific comments would hardly add much. Trully excellent work! Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted March 2, 2003 Exceptional potrait, Piotr. Full of force and meaning and great toning. Those hands, just hited, on his chest and shoulder are a great plus to it Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted March 2, 2003 fantastic portrait, good use of dof (or was it selective blurred in PS?) and toning. Also skin textures is great. Congrats on this one! Link to comment
koval 0 Posted March 2, 2003 Thank you all for you comments. The blur is due to F2.8 ..there was no need for PS to be involved. Bset Regards to All. PK Link to comment

andrzej_bargiela 0 Posted March 7, 2003 Great portrait study but as a photographic image conveying the concept of a prayer I preffer the other upload. The super sharp face attracts all of my attention and the vital relationship that should be formed in viewer's mind between the facial expression and the cross and/or body language (hands) is not as immediate as ii in the other image imo. Having said that the image certainly makes one pause and enjoy. Well done. Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted March 7, 2003 I think this is a great photograph like all of your work. However I do find the focusing contrast a little distracting. Just my opinon. A great picture nonetheless Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted March 8, 2003 Strong compelling photograph. I feel like I know this man just by looking at this picture. Excellent! Link to comment
