olafdevries 0 Posted June 7, 2011 Indeed, he is a personality. We do meet him more in the province, during national holidays, big markets etc. Unfortunately I couldn't share the image, for fortunately to him, he doesn't have a pc or in any way access to the internet. And yes, mostly light is the secret or clearly the key of the images. Sometimes I really get "thrilled" by it..!Except the "golden hours" there are "plenty" of opportunities of using the "effects" of lovely or even hostile bright sunlight..! Here I did on forehand compensate the exposure by - 0,67 for that whole (bright) day, this in at least getting not surprised and continiously being able in fast reacting on a nice lighted subject. Afterwards I did notice some different corrections, but I can't remember having made them. Haha and I'm glad the needed corrections "apparently" got recorrected after using them. Yes, clearly grandpa's amateurish adventures..! :) Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted July 27, 2011 It is indeed a lovely image with great lighting. The way he holds his harmonica doesn't show he is struggling with his tune, but nevertheless the poetry is still there... I would probably have given him a tip for holding that beautiful instrument. Many Thanks for sharing it with us and keep on taking such great shots.Bachir Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted July 27, 2011 Strong your observations..! Our friend is visiting the different places in the province and I have also shot him in my town. I was thinking about your remark on the hand, so in fact using one. By comparing the two images it's for me rather clear he is suffering from a handicap. The different hand does show that. Probably the reason why he freely can travel instead of having a regular job etc. Yes, I will show you the different image. Thanks for passing by and your discovery, it does show a good (!) attitude for photographing..! :) Best regards, Olaf. Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted July 28, 2011 Olaf,Very agreeably surprised you showing me this extended photo of the harmonica player... it is almost how I imagined it!Henri Cartier-Bresson, once said: "To take a photograph is to align the head, the eye and the heart." and that's exactly what I've noticed on your approach and purpose in using photography as a medium.Again many thanks for showing me this wonderful picture and very best wishesBachir Link to comment
