bronx 0 Posted June 6, 2011 It works for me; I like the angle of the shadow... the texture of the stone vs the ground, the overall dark moody feel I get when viewing this. Best regards. Link to comment

stp 6 Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks for the comments -- they are appreciated. Mike, I wasn't sure which lens I used at the time I posted (it's a long story involving an adapter to use "old" V lenses and a multiplication factor of this camera's sensor). I now realize I was using the 35-90mm zoom lens that came with the camera; this was set at 75mm, which is just slightly wider than normal for this system, but probably closer to normal for this camera.Nik software provides a number of preset images that can act as a base for further refinement to produce an image that is to the photographer's liking. I chose to start here because the upper left corner contrasted more with the tombstone that projects into that darkened area. I also liked the amount of light in the upper right corner -- a "Goldilocks balance" of not too much and not too little (from my point of view). Link to comment

cyanatic 0 Posted June 7, 2011 I find it nicely toned and well balanced compostionally. I like the light falling on the marker against the much darker background, and the long shadow leading to upper right, filling most of the frame. Uncluttered, simple, satisfying to the eye. Link to comment
