This is a very nice image. I am pleased that you did not use any smaller f-stop, since this would further limit the sharpness capabilities of your fine lens.

I noticed that 1/40 second was used, which suggests you have very steady hands or some sort of support was employed.

Either way, you got a nice capture here.

Thank you!  I love this lens, one of my favorites.  I have been busy with other things in life, so I haven't had much time to experiment.  This summer I will have more time.

As far as the hands, some luck, part VR, and part that I make my living with my hands...I am a surgeon.

I love taking photos...and I miss my PN friends.  Summer is here and I'm working on changing my focus...sorry for the sappy pun!

Thank you for the insight about your image captured.

It makes sense that you would "cool" whle taking a close-up and that a steady hand plus some VR is a winning combination for you.

Being a major collector and user of lens , I can say that the Nikon 105mm is also one of my favorites as well.
