GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 4, 2011 Last Spring, the first at this home, I was very happily surprised to see that we had a bed of Iris's that were a variety that were very tall with large blooms. Yesterday they were blowing in the breeze, back and forth, almost if dancing. Capturing one in the garden would just not be possible, so I cut a few and brought them inside, and experimented with my camera till well past midnight, just to see what I could come up with (different aperatures and speeds, available lighting etc.) While this one was no longer dancing, this Macro of it, almost made it appear as if it were laughing and chatting away, still at the 'Garden Party'. (thanks for dropping by, sincerely, Gail) Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted June 4, 2011 Hello Gail, A garden party makes me think about people laughing and the more I look at this I see a mouth with a bristly yellow tongue. White teeth and purple lips complete my scenario. But seriously what a lot of color exploding in this one flower. Real nice Gail. Take care.BR,Holger Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 4, 2011 One thing for sure, your images are of superb attractions for the viewers and so pleasant at the same time, the control over the light here is remarkable and the colors are so vivid as usual along with very outstanding methods of presentation.Thank you for sharing it my friend and wishing you all of the best. harlequin 0 Posted June 4, 2011 Gail, Nice shot. I like the shape and colors. The center background bothers me a little, in relationship to everything else. i would be interested in your thoughts on some of my Iris abstracts which are in my portfolio. Hope this finds you well. - Charles Link to comment

sean_newland 0 Posted June 5, 2011 Wow Gail this is a cool abstract of a flower that looks like a mouth with a tounge waiting for its prey... I love the colours and tight crop All the best Sean Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 5, 2011 Thanks Sean ffor those encouraging words.....really though, even though it appears to be an ABSTRACT, all I did was do a really tight crop and added the 'mottled frame'. I guess it's the angle I took it at. Will post Original so others can see what I worked from. Thanks for your visit and support, sincerely, Gail Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 5, 2011 Original file, for this Composition, Other than a few adjustments for Vibrancy and light, I added the 'mottled' frame. Really tight crop....not an Abstract even though it is so 'kind of wild looking'..... Link to comment

tonyfrench 0 Posted June 6, 2011 Gail, if you hadn't said what kind of flower this was, it would have taken me awhile to figure it out. I really like the way you cropped this and the focus on the yellow. Link to comment
